Povzetek

Članek je študija primera samosežiga mahajana budističnega meniha Thich Quang Duca leta 1963 v Saigonu. Izpostavim nekaj odzivov na ta dogodek in jih kontrastiram s pismom meniha Thich Nhat Hanha, ki je zavrnil, da bi bil samosežig protest ali samomor. Ta ontološka diskrepanca je motivirala nove raziskovalne nastavke. Da bi jo pokazal kot preučljivo, jo tematiziram z vpeljavo pojmovnega para vidno-nevidno. Predstavim razpravo Maria Blaserja, ki naslovi polje epistemologije in ontologije ter komentira nekaj temeljnih teoretskih pristopov, kot sta ontološki obrat in kozmopolitika. Trdim, da so bile nevidne – na primer ontološke – vsebine dogodka v številnih razpravah bodisi spregledane bodisi posplošene na raven objektivističnega ali političnega besednjaka.
